Senior Systems Engineer - AIXDuties:
RISC systems engineer for the AIX/IBM i/pSeries/Client-UX platforms.
The position will require design, engineering, and implementation of IT solutions as a key part of the team.
Manages troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations.
Recognized internally as the go-to person for the most complex Infrastructure Engineering assignments.
Skills:
Understanding / hands-on with the following specific technologies:
AIX operating system - all versions - updating/patching and maintaining IBM Power hardware - enterprise class Power 8, 9, 10 Virtualization with VIO, managing, updating VIOS AIX management tools including HMCs, NIM Performance and capacity tuning of LPARs Backup and recovery experience; Disaster Recovery & testing SAN storage including replication & NPIV Proficient in storage and filesystem change/migration Networking, VLAN tagging, Load balancing, SEA Live Partition Mobility Demonstration of following professional IT skills:
Excellent problem determination skills Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize workload Proven leadership in managing projects / working groups Proven ability to mentor and train others Excellent written and verbal communication Able to have collaborative relationship with vendors Ability to create technical documentation Other experience that would be a plus:
IBM i / AS400 administration skills Client-UX OS administration skills Linux/Redhat skills Avamar and/or DataDomain backup products Shell scripting & automation scripting (Perl, Ansible, Powershell etc) Education:
Five years or great experience in these technical areas.
