is a Connecticut based Specialty Contractor engaged in the consultation, sale, manufacture and installation of metal wall panel systems, rain-screen panel systems of terracotta, stone, fiber cement and other exterior cladding systems as well as glass and glazing, light gauge steel framing, structural and miscellaneous steel.
Our geographical marketplace is Southern New England and New York state.
We are in need of an experienced Project Manager who can deliver profitable, well constructed projects ranging from 1 million to 10 million while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
Projects typically involve structural engineer-design input as we will be responsible for the building envelope.
This position requires a candidate who is an out of the box thinker who enjoys building a better mousetrap.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering, architecture or construction management background, be well versed in construction means and methods and accustomed to a systems approach to exterior wall cladding.
Must be from the industry with actual and relevant experience in project management of exterior cladding and building enclosure systems.
Must have a strong record of success / contacts and the proven ability to work independantly but also part of a team.
Position requires time spent both in the office and in the field including directing our own union workforce.
Must be well versed in construction means and methods, suggest value engineering and able to offer creative solutions to field issues as they arise.
Duties include scheduling, job cost review, change order mgt, billing, dispute resolution and project closeout.
Requirements This position requires a skilled Project Manager accustomed to taking a project over at the bid stage and manage all aspects of the project through closeout and final payment.
Included in the job duties is the following:
The candidiate will manage upwards to 6 projects at a time of varying size and complexity, final negotiation and buyout of vendors and suppliers.
Submittal review and coordination,planning, scheduling and coordinating of vendors, outside engineers and subcontractors.
MUST be able to read and understand contract drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
Proactive preconstruction management of Construction Manager and predecessor trades to ensure that project conditions are suitable for the efficient installation of our work.
Safety coordination and imnplementation of JHA, Attend project meetings.
Negotiate change orders.
Develop monthly AIA billing and requisitions.
Monitor job costs and suggest actions to acheive financial goals of the company.
Create and maintain project schedules.
Manage field labor and negotiate with unions.
Candidiate must have a strong constitution who will treat the company and its projects as its own.
